Sports Pathways
The Sports Progression Framework
A structured, evidence-led framework designed to support long-term athlete progression across multiple sports.
How Progression Works
- Development is built in age-appropriate stages rather than rushed outcomes
- Technical, physical and cognitive development progress together as part of a unified pathway
- Every stage is designed to support long-term athlete development, not short-term results
Progression Levels
Foundation Level
Focuses on movement quality, physical literacy, confidence and enjoyment. Athletes build core habits and skills required for long-term development.
Development Level
Introduces structured technical, physical and tactical learning. Athletes progress at an age-appropriate pace with increasing training detail and understanding.
Performance Level
Designed for advanced and elite athletes. Emphasis is placed on consistency, decision making, physical preparation, mindset, nutrition and long-term performance.
Apply the Framework by Sport
Each sport applies these progression levels using sport-specific terminology and structures
Additional sports are introduced as the framework expands, using the same progression principles.
